Genoa City Tour 5 days

DAY 1 Genoa

In the morning: arrival of participants at Bristol Palace Hotel.

12:30/13:00 p.m.: Light lunch at the hotel.

2:00 p.m.: Meet with guides and brief presentation of the tour.

2:30 p.m.: Depart on foot from the hotel and visit the historic city center and the Carlo Felice Theater, overlooking the beautiful Piazza De Ferrari, Piazza San Matteo with its church of the same name, the Palazzi Doria and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. Return to the hotel.

6:30 p.m.: Depart on foot from the hotel and aperitif at the palace of Marquis Giacomo and Emanuela Cattaneo Adorno, which houses one of Italy's most extraordinary private libraries.

8:00 p.m.: Dinner at Terrazza Colombo, an exclusive, top location in the Piacentini skyscraper, from where there is a magnificent view of the city. Return to hotel.

DAY 2.

The day is dedicated to visiting the historic Via Garibaldi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most beautiful streets in Italy from where you can admire Genoa's most majestic buildings.

9 a.m.: Depart on foot from the hotel and visit Palazzo Lomellino, with its frescoed hall on the main floor, hanging gardens and historic store at 12 Via Garibaldi.

12:30 p.m.: Transfer by coach to Villa Balbi Durazzo Gropallo, Lo Zerbino, received by Count Marcello Castelbarco Albani who will explain the history of this magnificent villa and its grounds.

2:30 pm: Transfer by bus and visit the wonderful palaces Palazzo Bianco, Palazzo Rosso, Palazzo Tursi. Return to hotel.

7:45 pm: Transfer on foot from hotel and dinner at Palazzo Spinola received by Marquis Roberto and Carlo Clavarino. Return to hotel. 

DAY 3.

The day is dedicated to the sea, the harbor and sailing.

9 a.m.: Transfer by bus to the Museo del Mare, the largest seaport museum in the Mediterranean, housed in the oldest existing building of the Republic's arsenal: the Galata. Today it is a place that allows you to retrace the echoes of the past and discover the centuries-old relationship between man and the sea.

12:30 p.m.: Lunch at the Yacht Club, the oldest sailing club in the country and one of the oldest in the Mediterranean, received by our friends and club members Eugenio and Marina Kielland.

2:30 pm: Tour of the harbor by boat.

4:30 pm: Transfer to coach and return to hotel.

7 pm: Transfer by bus to Genoa Aquarium, the largest aquatic biodiversity exhibition in Europe with 70 tanks, more than12,000 animals of 600 different species, with the magnificent Gulf of Genoa in the background. Surprise dinner. Return to hotel.

DAY 4.

The day is devoted to exhibitions, seaside villages and wonderful old stores.

9 a.m.: Depart on foot from the hotel and visit the Ducal Palace.

12 noon: Transfer by coach to Boccadasse - charming seaside village - and lunch at Da Vittorio al Mare restaurant.

2:30 pm: Transfer by coach to the hotel. Afternoon: Free time or visit the Historic Workshops that Genoa possesses preserved like few other Italian cities, accompanied by our guides.

8:00 p.m.: Depart on foot from the hotel and dine at the Tunnel Artistic Circle, a very old private club, many members of which occupy eminent positions in industry, finance or liberal Genoese professions. Return to the hotel.

DAY 5.

From historic building to stunning private residence with 360-degree views of the city and harbor.

9 a.m.: Transfer by bus to Prince Andrea Doria's Palace, a museum full of hidden treasures: visit rooms with magnificent frescoes and incredible tapestries and gardens.

Noon: Transfer by bus to the Art Nouveau elevator that will take us to the Castelletto Esplanade, an extraordinary "balcony" suspended above the historic downtown area.

1 p.m.: Lunch in Castelletto welcomed at the beautiful home of Mr. Giovanni Guicciardi.

3 p.m.: Transfer to coach, return to hotel and end of trip.
