DAY 1 TAORMINA

Arrival in Taormina or Giardini Naxos. Dinner and overnight stay Taormina or Giardini Naxos.

DAY 2 ETNA - TAORMINA

After breakfast, you will begin your trip to Sicily with a visit to Mount Etna. Meet with our guide and depart to reach Europe's highest and most active volcano. Upon arrival at Crateri Silvestri, which is about 2,000 meters above sea level, we will walk along a comfortable path from which there are wonderful views of the coast and then take a walk on the lava path with our guide. On the way back, we will stop in Zafferana Etnea, a town famous for honey production, which is located among the green hills rising on the heights of Mount Etna volcano, but only minutes from the Ionian Sea.

Honey tasting. We will continue inland through the fascinating farms where we can admire the wine crops that cover the foot of the fertile volcano to one of the wineries located at the foot of the volcano. Guided tour of the winery with tasting of some of their prestigious wines and fresh local produce. Light lunch with typical Sicilian dishes.

Continue on to Taormina and visit the impressive Greek Theater., the most important and best-preserved monument in Taormina and the world with a capacity of 10,000 spectators, and one of Sicily's most famous ruins. Walking tour of the city center. Return to hotel area Taormina or Giardini Naxos, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 SYRACUSE, ORTIGIA AND CATANIA

Departure from the hotel to visit Syracuse. Visit to the archaeological area and the Greek theater of Neapolis (entrance fee not included). The Sicilian city of Syracuse is a wonderland. Echoes of ancient civilizations still echo in the streets of this coastal city with its Baroque architecture. After the visit continue to Ortigia, one of the districts of the ancient city, for lunch. Possibility to have a taste of "Tagliere" with typical products, a unique experience for guests, in the ancient market of Ortigia. Afternoon, a walking tour within the Ortigia area. After the visit continue to Catania for a short walking tour of the city. Continuation to hotel in the Taormina or Giardini Naxos area. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

 DAY 4 PIAZZA ARMERINA AND CALTAGIRONE

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Piazza Armerina. Visit to Villa Romana del Casale, a UNESCO world heritage site. The villa was built in the late 3rd and early 4th centuries AD. Lunch in a typical restaurant. After lunch, continue to Caltagirone, famous for its ancient art of ceramics, which provided the decor for many of the churches and buildings in its center. The highest expression of its Baroque soul is Santa Maria del Monte with an imposing staircase decorated with polychrome majolica. After the visit we continue to Agrigento, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 AGRIGENTO AND VALLEY OF TEMPLES

Departing from the hotel to visit the Valley of the Temples, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the charm of ancient history blends with the beauty of nature. The sea on one side, the old city-hill on the other, the majestic Doric-style temples that stand in the center of it all, and the tones of the tuff with which they are built create a perfect picture. The Temple of Concord is the well-preserved temple, having been converted into a church. Then, the Temple of Dioscuri is considered the most symbolic, while the Temple of Hercules is the oldest of all. Together with the Temple of Zeus, these five giants dominate the Valley. Leaving the Valley and heading toward the city, you will encounter the remains of the Hellenistic-Roman Quarter, with its houses decorated with beautiful mosaics. Break for Lunch. After lunch, continue to visit the small Borgo di Erice, located on the top of the mountain of the same name. After the visit, continue on to Palermo. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 6 PALERMO

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to visit Palermo, to see, in particular the polychrome marble of its buildings, its Arab-style domes, the lively and colorful Vucciria market and the Kalsa district, and its verdant settings, especially Favorita Park, Villa Giulia and Garibaldi Garden. In Palermo's historic center, splendid monuments bear witness to its illustrious past, examples of which are the Norman Palace, with the Palatine Chapel and its ancient mosaics. The Church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, surmounted by five red domes; the majestic cathedral and its works of art and, in particular, the "Royal and Imperial Tombs." Lunch in a typical restaurant in the historic center. Possibility to taste Sicilian street food. Palermo, in fact, is famous for its street food such as panelle, arancini, sfinciuni, muffulette, etc. A true melting pot of ideas, recipes and dishes rooted in centuries of Sicilian, Greek, Arab, Spanish and French culinary traditions. After lunch, departure for Cefalù, dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 7 CEFALU'

Breakfast at the hotel and depart to visit the small Sicilian seaside resort of Cefalù, strolling and browsing through its small alleyways. Cefalù offers sandy beaches, winding medieval streets dotted with cafes and restaurants. The imposing sandstone-colored Norman Cathedral rises above wide Piazza Duomo, a perfect place to relax with a coffee. Cefalù is dotted with beautiful sea views, a picturesque harbor and a Saracen washhouse. Lunch at a typical restaurant.
